The Awards and Categories
The full range of categories across the skilled trades, from apprentices to firm of the year.
The UK Trades Awards runs categories across the full breadth of the skilled trades, from individual craftspeople and apprentices to specialist contractors and firms of the year. Whatever your trade, there is a category built for the work you do.
How the categories work
We group our awards so that like competes with like. A specialist doing exceptional work is judged against others in the same discipline, not thrown in with every trade under one giant heading. That is how a focused, brilliant firm gets a fair shot rather than being drowned out.
Categories span the trades that build and maintain the places we live and work, and they reward both the everyday brilliance and the standout one-off projects.
Trade categories
Our discipline awards cover the core trades, including building and groundworks, roofing, flooring and resin specialists, painting and decorating, cladding and external envelope, electrical, plumbing and heating, and joinery and carpentry. Each one recognises the firms and individuals setting the standard in that field.
People and firm awards
Apprentice of the Year
For the rising talent proving that the future of the trades is in good hands. This one matters to us more than most, because it is about the next generation.
Tradesperson of the Year
For an individual whose skill, reliability and standards set them apart in their field.
Trade Firm of the Year
For the company that combines outstanding workmanship with the way it treats its people, its clients and its commitments.
Project and special awards
Alongside the trade and people categories, we recognise standout projects and the qualities that make great firms great, from safety and training to customer service and community impact. These are the awards that capture the work you cannot measure in a single job.
